Competition center – long distance start: 1100 m
Parking – competition center: from 400 to 600 m

Scale: Long distance – 1:15 000 for classes MW16E, MW18E, MW20E, MW21E; 1:10000 for MW14 class; Relay all classes – 1:10 000.
Contour interval - 5 m. Latvian Geospatial Information Agency digital elevation model data was used to prepare the competition map.
 
Terrain
Mostly coniferous forest. Terrain is rich in various landforms. Max height difference - 50 meters. Runnability good in ~70...80% of the terrain. Decreased runnability in some marshy areas, old clearings etc. The competition terrain has never been used for orienteering before.

Strict embargo applies to the red indicated area, meaning that competitors, team officials, and other persons, who, through knowledge of the terrain, may influence the results of the BOC 2022, are not allowed to enter the area.
 
Rules
The IOF Competition Rules (https://orienteering.sport/orienteering/competition-rules/) and the Competition Rules for the Baltic Orienteering Championships 2020-2025 (https://eventor.orienteering.org/Documents/Event/4724/BOC-2020-2025-Rules) will be applied.
Expected winning times for 21E classes according to IOF Competition Rules. 
No special regulations on clothing, but organizers ask national team athletes to wear the team clothing of their Federation during the races and all the ceremonies.

Registration and entry fees
Entry fees for the national teams in accordance with the BOC competition rules.
Name entry deadline - 09.05.2022. 
Teams must fill participant names in the online form. The link to online form will be sent to participating federations at least month before the event. No entries via IOF Eventor!
 
The relay name entries must be handed to organizers in the competition center on Saturday, May 14th before 15:00. Paper entry forms for the relay will be available in the team’s accreditation packs and in the competition center on Saturday.
Payment must be credited to Latvian Orienteering Federation bank account by 09.05.2022

Start order
The start draws for the M21E and W21E classes will be based on the IOF World Rankings on May 10th, 2022. The competitors will be divided into 3 or more groups, ranked in order based on WRE points. Within each group, lots are drawn to decide the start order. The best ranked group starts last.
 
Electronic punching system
SPORTIdent AIR+. Competitors with their own SIAC card must indicate its number in the application form. It is possible to rent a SIAC card from the organizers. SI rent will cost 1.- EUR for two days.
 
Prize giving
Long:  the first three competitors of each class are awarded with the medals and diplomas, prizes are presented to the winners of each class.
Relay:  individual members of the best three teams receives the appropriate medal and the diploma.
An overall team score is calculated for each federation as the total sum of points achieved in long distance and relay according to the BOC competition rules. The best team according to the team score receives the cup.
